Prescription & costs
Do I need a prescription?
For German statutory insurance, yes. Without one you can see Johanna Kerber as a self-paying patient, and classes never need one. For TRICARE or US insurance, ask your insurer what they require. More.
What is the “Zuzahlung”?
The legal co-payment for German statutory insurance: €10 per prescription plus 10% of treatment costs. Under 18s and people with an exemption certificate don’t pay it. It doesn’t apply to private, self-pay or US insurance patients.
How long is my prescription valid?
For German prescriptions: treatment usually has to start within 28 days of the date of issue (14 days if marked urgent). There shouldn’t be more than 14 days between two sessions.
Will private insurance pay everything?
That depends on your policy. Some plans only reimburse up to certain amounts. Check with your insurer – our prices are listed on every treatment page.
I have TRICARE / US insurance. Can I come?
Yes. Whether you need a referral or authorization depends on your plan – please check with TRICARE or your insurer first. We provide an itemised invoice in English and German. Read the guide.
Appointments
How soon can I get an appointment?
Usually within 1–2 weeks. If your prescription is marked urgent, please tell us right away.
What if I need to cancel?
Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance – the answering machine is fine. Appointments not cancelled in time are charged at €25.
Are there early morning or evening appointments?
Yes, Mon–Thu from 7:30 am to 7 pm – handy around duty hours. These slots go quickly, so ask early.
Treatment
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and a large towel. Clean indoor sports shoes for gym-based therapy.
Can I ask for a specific therapist?
Of course – by language, specialty, or if you prefer a female or male therapist. We’ll do our best. Meet the team.
Will the treatment hurt?
Some exercises are hard work, but you have a say. Tell us right away if anything feels wrong – we’ll adjust it.
Can someone come with me?
Yes, companions are welcome – and for children, very much encouraged.
Do you treat children?
Yes, school-age children and teens. For babies and toddlers we recommend a practice specialising in paediatrics.
