What it is

We treat at home, in nursing homes or in assisted living. We bring exercise equipment and, if needed, a portable treatment table.

At home we often see more clearly what is hard in daily life – the stairs, the bathroom, the walk to the mailbox – and practise exactly that. Family members are welcome to join and learn how to help safely.

Who it’s for

  • after surgery, as long as you can’t leave the house yet
  • if you need care or have severely limited walking
  • for residents of care facilities
  • if you live in Idar-Oberstein (all districts) or within about 15 km, e.g. Herrstein, Fischbach, Birkenfeld; Baumholder on request

Your doctor decides which treatment is right for you – we are happy to advise as well.

How a session goes

  1. Request

Call us or send a request. We plan home visits in fixed rounds, usually in the morning.

  2. First visit

Assessment in your own surroundings: how do you get out of bed, over the threshold, into the bathroom?

  3. Treatment

The prescribed therapy, e.g. physiotherapy or lymphatic drainage.

  4. Daily life & family

Tips on aids and safe routes around your home – together with your family if you like.

Duration & frequency

Treatment time matches the prescribed therapy, e.g. 15–25 minutes of physiotherapy. Travel time is on our side.

Fixed days and time windows, usually Monday to Friday mornings.

Do I need a prescription?

  • Statutory insurance: only if “Hausbesuch: ja” (home visit: yes) is ticked on the prescription. Your doctor decides this when a visit to the practice isn’t possible for medical reasons.
  • Private insurance: with a private prescription that mentions the home visit.
  • Self-pay: by arrangement, see prices below.
