Class 1 of 5
Feet first, then hands
Boxing Fundamentals teaches boxing the right way round: feet first, then hands, then putting it together. Every session has one technical focus, for example the jab, slipping or body shots, and we build it up step by step until it holds up on the pads.
Partner drills are light and controlled. Nobody gets hit in the face in this class. After about three months most people add Fight Fit for conditioning, or ask Marek about controlled sparring.

Questions
Will I get hit?
No. There is no sparring in Fundamentals. Partner drills are touch-only and the coach watches every pair.
I’m out of shape. Can I still come?
Yes. You work at your own pace, and the conditioning part is scaled for every level. Most people feel the difference after a few weeks.
When can I spar?
Controlled sparring is by invitation only: after at least three months of regular training and a coach’s okay. It happens in staffed Open Gym slots, with headgear and a coach in the ring.
Can I start at any time?
Yes. Fundamentals runs in a 4-week cycle (footwork, jab and cross, defence, combinations), so you are never more than a few classes away from the start.
