About us
One family, one fire
Grandpa Ivo – Dido, as we call him – came to Idar-Oberstein from the Livno area in 1974 and spent decades cutting gemstones. On weekends he was at the grill: for coworkers, neighbors, half the street. In 2009 we turned that into a restaurant: Ivo and Grandma Ruža, their daughter Mirela and son-in-law Dario.
Today grandson Luka runs the fire. Dido sits at his usual table and makes sure the ćevapi taste exactly the way they always have.
Idar-Oberstein takes its grilling seriously – Spießbraten is a point of local pride. We simply brought along the other great grill tradition.

- Fresh meat from a local butcher, seasoned and shaped by hand every morning.
- Somun from our own oven, ajvar and kajmak made from Grandma’s recipe.

Party catering
Baptism, birthday, wedding, unit or office party – we bring the grill. For groups of 15 or more, within 30 km (about 20 miles) of Idar-Oberstein – Kirn, Birkenfeld and Baumholder included.

The kitchen closes 30 minutes before we do. Reservations recommended on weekends. Cash and cards accepted. We speak English, German, Croatian and Bosnian.
