Getting here

  • From Kirnabout 4 km on the B 41 towards Bad Sobernheim, then left in Hochstetten-Dhaun (5 min).
  • From Baumholderabout 25 km via Kirn, roughly 30 minutes by car. Easy for a Sunday lunch from post – we know many of you already.
  • From Idar-Obersteinabout 20 km along the Nahe on the B 41 (25 min).
  • By train & taxiKirn station (Nahe valley line), then 4 km by taxi. For groups we can arrange a ride home.

A few friendly tips

Paying
Cash, girocard and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). Splitting the check is normal here – the server will ask "zusammen oder getrennt?" (together or separate?).
Tipping
Service is included in German prices, but rounding up 5–10 % is customary. Tell the server the total when you pay ("make it €30") instead of leaving cash on the table.
Water & bread
Water is ordered like any drink (still or sparkling). Tap water is free on request – just ask for "Leitungswasser".
Kids & dogs
High chairs, colouring cards and kids' plates are available. Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside the parlour and in the beer garden – very German.
Step-free access
The hall and beer garden are step-free, with an accessible toilet at the hall entrance.
