Services

Six things we do well – with honest guide prices. The exact figure comes after we have measured, but you should know beforehand which league we play in.

Kitchens

Solid wood, sheet material or both: we design kitchens for exactly your room – including old houses with leaning walls, sloping ceilings and windows in awkward places. Order appliances through us or bring your own; stone worktops come from a stonemason in Idar-Oberstein.

Complete kitchens and single runs
Free-standing modular kitchens for rentals
New fronts for existing carcasses
Worktops in oak, ash, walnut

Typical time: 8–16 weeks
Guide price: Complete kitchen from about €18,000, modular kitchen from about €9,500

Furniture & built-ins

Dining tables, dressers, beds, bookcases, built-in cupboards for alcoves and under sloping ceilings. We use solid wood where hands touch it and sheet material where it makes sense – and we tell you honestly which is better where.

Tables from your own tree
Built-in wardrobes and hall storage
Bookcases, window seats, beds
Furniture that comes apart (moves, shipping)

Typical time: 4–10 weeks
Guide price: Solid dining table from about €2,900, built-in cupboard from about €1,600 per running metre

Staircases

New timber staircases – straight, quarter- or half-turn, housed or open-string – and renovation of old ones: capping treads, curing creaks, bringing balustrades up to today’s heights.

New stairs in oak, beech, ash
Renovating and capping old stairs
Balustrades and handrails
Structural checks with our engineer

Typical time: 8–12 weeks
Guide price: New staircase from about €9,800, renovation from about €3,500

Doors & windows

Front doors in oak and larch, interior doors modelled on old ones, and refurbishing historic box-sash windows – often in listed houses in Herrstein, Kirn and Meisenheim, agreed with the heritage office.

Front doors with modern insulation and security
Interior and sliding doors
Refurbishing and draught-proofing box-sash windows
Shutters

Typical time: 6–10 weeks
Guide price: Front door from about €4,800, window refurbishment from about €650 per sash

Restoration

Farmhouse wardrobes, dressers, chests, chairs: we restore with period materials – hide glue, shellac, linseed oil – and only replace what is missing. We treat woodworm with heat, not poison.

Antique and painted furniture
Woodworm heat treatment
Veneer and marquetry repair
Written documentation

Typical time: 4–14 weeks
Guide price: Quote after inspection, small jobs from about €250

Repairs & small jobs

A sticking drawer, water rings on the tabletop, a torn-out hinge? Repair it instead of throwing it away. We slot small jobs in between the big commissions.

Sanding and re-oiling tabletops
Drawers, hinges, locks
Re-gluing chairs
Making replacement parts

Typical time: 1–3 weeks
Guide price: Workshop rate €64 per hour plus VAT

For US Forces families

Built for life on the move

Many of our clients are American families from the Baumholder community. Katrin spent part of her journeyman years in Canada, so the consultation, the quote and the care guide can all be in English.

Knock-down joinery: furniture comes apart for your next PCS move and fits through narrow German stairwells.
Room for a US-size fridge (often 91 cm wide) and 110 V appliances on a transformer – we plan around them.
We are happy to work with the US Forces VAT relief forms – just mention it in your enquiry.
Sizes are in centimetres (1 inch = 2.54 cm). We measure everything on site anyway.

To be honest

What we don’t do

Lay laminate or click flooring
Assemble flat-pack furniture
Hang ready-made DIY-store doors

We know good people who do – just ask and we will pass on a number.

Where we work

About 25 km around Herrstein

Kirn, Idar-Oberstein, Birkenfeld, Baumholder, Morbach, Bundenbach, Fischbach and the villages in between. Surveys within this radius are free. We deliver furniture further afield too – or crate it for shipping.
